Government changes and policy to extend construction days due to Covid 9

Just a reminder of Government changes and policy to extend construction days have allowed extended construction periods to include weekends. This change is directly due to Covid 19 and allowing construction projects to continue employment and meet obligations while having to incorporate distancing measures and safe working protocols. Although Crudine Ridge Wind Farm will utilise the extension for continuation of works, it will adhere to the regularity codes set by government.

New Ministerial Orders

On 25 March 2020, the NSW Government introduced the COVID-19 Legislation Amendment (Emergency Measures) Bill 2020, which made changes to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

The changes allow the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces to make an order for development to be carried out without the normal planning approval in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These measures will be kept in place until the crisis is over, and reviewed as new issues arise.
